For example, the "mannequin" will generally be light-skinned, even if the Sim is not. Also, while children cannot buy clothes, they can try them on.
The player will not be given the option to add tried-on clothes to the Sim's cart, so having them buy those clothes will involve using a clothing rack's Buy option, and finding them again. When a Sim tries on an outfit, he or she will go into a changing booth, change into the outfit, and pose in front of a mirror. After a short time, the Sim will go back into the booth, change back into what he or she was wearing before, and go back to the rack. It appears that the Sim will use what he or she considers to be the closest available booth.
If the Sim decides that that booth is inaccessible, he or she will spin-change at that point, pose briefly, then change back and return to the rack. If there are no changing booths, the Sim will spin-change into the selected outfit, then quickly change back out of it. Clothing racks use the same thumbnails that Create a Sim uses, but do not give access to the collections that are available in CAS. When using a clothing rack, the game may pause for some time while the thumbnails load.
In a Sim-owned business , clothing racks become point-of-sale objects which allow the business to sell clothes. A side-effect of this is that all outfits sold from a rack in an owned business have the same price, regardless of their normal cost.
If the lot is being played as a business, a controllable Sim can suggest a type of clothing to a customer. If this sale is successful, [n 5] a selection dialog for the customer's age and gender will open, and the player can select the outfit which the Sim will buy. If Everyday was suggested, the player will be able to select a top and bottom, or a complete outfit.
This dialog is different from the normal Buy dialog in several ways. While the "mannequin" figure is not a perfect representation of the Sim, it should at least have the Sim's skin tone. Also, it is taller, has larger thumbnails, and does not allow the player to select a different age or gender. Once the outfit is paid for, it will be set as the Sim's current outfit of that type, so if it is the type of clothing the Sim is wearing, he or she will change into it.
If it is an Everyday outfit, the Sim's in-game thumbnail will be updated. It appears that these sales may not, or may not always, decrease the number of items available on the rack. Also, customers may shop at a rack autonomously, without an outfit being suggested. Sales socials can be used on these Sims, but these sales appear to be "phantom sales".
While the Sim pays at the register, the business gets the money, and the number of items on the rack is decreased, the dialog does not open and the Sim does not actually get anything. If the player sends Sims to an owned business that sells clothing, those Sims will be able to use the clothing racks as they would in an unowned shop—with two exceptions.
All outfits will have the same price, and the Buy dialog will contain a meter showing how many items are left on the rack. Since clothes are bought for the household, they travel with the household, not necessarily with individual Sims. If the household moves from one lot to another, the household's wardrobe should go with it. However, when individual Sims move from one household to another, whether directly or via the Family Bin, they might not carry any clothes other than the ones they are wearing and any special outfits they may have acquired.
However, this will not necessarily apply to career outfits; career outfits earned by household members may travel with the household rather than with the Sim who earned them.
The game appears to maintain this distinction even for single-Sim households. With FreeTime , Sims can carry sewn outfits in inventory when they move, and even when they go to or return from college. Downloaded swim wear in The Sims 3.
There are no longer clothing shops as Sims have access to all outfits except special career outfits. With Into the Future , Sims can purchase outfits that are displayed on mannequins. In The Sims 3 , players have the ability to customize the pattern and color of every article of clothing. Shoes are now separate from the rest of a Sim's clothes, and every outfit category has the ability to choose different tops and bottoms. Sims can now choose one of three different outfits from each category of clothing and wear them periodically.
Also, hair can be assigned to an outfit, as featured in The Sims 2: Seasons. However, in order to assign hair to an outfit, the Sim must be wearing that category of clothing; which was not necessary in The Sims 2: Seasons. This method is difficult to use in the game because it involves changing a Sim's outfit with a dresser, then changing the Sim's head with a mirror.
This can be done more easily by using the makeover station from The Sims 3: Ambitions. There are many categories of clothing in The Sims 3. The undies category has been merged with sleepwear, so Sims will wear sleepwear after they WooHoo , for instance.
Career outfits can be customized since patch 31 , equivalent to Showtime , which enables more choice for Sims in their career or profession. Outerwear is worn by Sims during winter or cold weather, and it keeps Sims warm longer than wearing anything else.
The rest of the categories are only used for special occasions, and they mostly cannot be customized. Naked and singed categories are used when Sims take a bath or get singed. It even removes the weird jeans from underneath the asymmetrical skirt that had potential but was just weird.
A great addition to your game by grimcookies! This Ellen top is a nice polo shirt with a few buttons and an open collar. It features a stripe across the chest that comes in a variety of colors. This top is awesome for teens or young adults and works great with any high waisted bottom or pair of mom jeans, so versatile and gorgeous!
One of my favorite pairs of pants in The Sims 4 are the plaid pants we got with The Sims 4: Tiny Living and these Elora pants are even better than those.
These pants can be dressed up or down and worn with so many different tops for a unique and fun look. There are so many tops in The Sims 4 that are too cropped for any of the pants in the game, and all I want is a super high waisted pair of jeans that are cute and simple. These Emilia jeans are incredible for any crop and featured a nice cuffed ankle and can be dressed up with heels or worn with sneakers for a more relaxed look. The sweater features tight wrists allowing for a small puffy sleeve, but not too much, a high neck with a gorgeous cut out detail.
Remember those jeans from number 22? This is the perfect top to wear with those jeans. The fawn top would go great with any pair of high waisted jeans or a cute skirt and gives so much to your sims! Absolutely a gorgeous option for cc clothes. These Hallie shorts are a gorgeous option that are a more elevated version of a jean short. This Harley top features a small turtle neck with no sleeves to show off your sims arms! It comes in 20 colors and can be worn as a work out top, a dressy party top or an everyday option for your sims.
There are so many gorgeous cc clothes that really make a statement and this hearty dress definitely does that. This dress features a two piece set with a top and a skirt covered in hearts, to show off your love. The skirt is high waisted and is so beautiful and pairs perfectly with the top half with some gorgeous puffy sleeves and a tied middle. This top is awesome because it comes in so many gorgeous colors!

This comfy sweater is a great choice to wear as a sleepwear outfit, or can be dressed up so beautifully to be everyday or cold weather. The off the shoulder look is so beautiful! You can choose to wear this on its own as a statement item, or put it under a pair of jeans or a skirt to have it be a cool look but a little less intense. It features a gorgeous mock neck with a zipper detail going to the middle of the top and comes in a bunch of cute colors.
It even has some great embroidery on the sleeve that gives it an even more unique look for your sims. Once again we have another incredible add on for a stuff pack, with The Paranormal Stuff add on pack by grimcookies. This took a lot of the crazy patterns on great items from that pack and makes them more versatilee.
My favorite is the one puffy sleeve top that has been made even more wearable by shortening the sleeves. This peekaboo turtleneck is a really fun option that has fish net vibes on the shoulders and across the chest while still having a turtle neck made of the same material as the body.
This is a great option for any sim and looks so gorgeous in all 10 swatches. The Phrankie top is such a great option to add to your mods folder for The Sims 4.
It has a wide neck with long sleeves and so many fun colors and patterns. This top is so fun and has some great patterns for you to wear, I am obsessed with the butterfly option. You can wear this with layered necklaces and a pair of high waisted jeans for a great look for your sims.
This dress has a top that is a high neck halter top that gives off some gorgeous fancy vibes and the back is just so cool.
These button up shorts are such a great option because the buttons add some much needed detail to the outfit. They can pair so nicely with sweaters, crops, and more. These are honestly identical to a pair of shorts that are in my closet, so of course these were a must download because those buttons are adorable.
These ripe stripe joggers are such an awesome option for your sims every day outfits if they need clothes to just hangout in, or are a great option for you to use for sleepwear.
They have a nice stripe detail down the side and are high waisted for a great look. With Discover University we did get a bunch of good joggers, but none are as good as these stripped joggers that would be so comfy.

This pack includes 20 awesome pieces that your sims will just love to wear! Sometimes in The Sims 4 we get some pieces that are just not right, this is a simple change to the raincoats that came with The Sims 4: Seasons that can completely change the look. These raincoats were super cute, but just too long. This is so great because it shortens the raincoats that already have really cute patterns and can be worn by so many sims.
This Skye shirt is a great way to wear a flannel shirt without it swallowing your sim entirely, this cropped flannel with a small crop underneath is such a gorgeous look. It comes in a few swatches giving you options for your sims. This top is a great option for wearing as a teen or young adult and looks so beautiful on all sorts of body types. Or better yet, look for links to the original CC before it was made into a default — most sites will list this. Follow all my boards to keep up with what I pin!
